Step into the post-war streets of London, where shadows of espionage still linger, and a treacherous game of betrayal unfolds.
Amidst the echoes of victory, a dark cloud looms as three daring deserters from the 6813th US Army detachment emerge. These fugitives have stolen the invaluable Comms Equipment from the legendary Bletchley Park, a vital technology that once intercepted and deciphered the Nazis’ enigmatic transmissions, granting the Allied Commanders indispensable intelligence. Little did they know that these stolen machines would form the foundation of the future’s computer technology, a power that could reshape the world in the right hands.
Now, the world teeters on the edge of chaos, for this priceless technology is destined to be sold to the highest bidder, shattering the delicate balance of peace. In this desperate hour, Professor Brimblecombe, the head of British Intelligence, knows there’s only one team capable of rising to the challenge.
Reunited for one final mission, Alistair and Freddie Valentine, alongside their elite group of spies, are thrust into the heart of the mystery. Their mission: capture the audacious deserters, reclaim the stolen Comms Equipment, and unmask the sinister traitor hidden within the White House.
As the clock ticks mercilessly, one clue emerges, leading them to Jessica Hope, a brilliant cryptanalyst from Codes and Cyphers. Armed with a leaked US Pentagon Stores Requisition Memo, she holds the key to the truth. But doubts linger in the air—can this evidence be trusted, or is it merely a cunning facade to deceive even the most seasoned spies?
Amidst the intricate web of deception, one familiar face steps forward, poised and unyielding—Joselyn Foster, the fearless Massachusetts-born spy from Valentines Cup and Crimson Wing. With her extraordinary skills and unwavering determination, she will once again excel in the face of peril.

‘The final, and in my opinion the best, book of the Valentines Cup series, again featuring familiar characters from the earlier books. This is a well researched book and contains some interesting historical facts. The plot moves at a fast pace and I was impatient to see what the outcome would be. It is sad to say goodbye to Brim and his team but hopefully the author will start a new series.’
‘A good read with plenty of pace and excitement.’
‘Having read the first 3 books as a trilogy I was intrigued by the a fourth book involving the Valentine brothers in a post war spy environment. Operation Gunfleet provided plenty of twists and turns and in many respects finished the series with a flourish. Could be enjoyed as a stand-alone book but I’d recommend you try the series so you get the backstory which will help you understand the secrets and the interwoven plots that emerge.’
